How do I know which ports are open on my system?

To get a list of listening network ports (TCP/UDP sockets):

1. Login to your dedicated server as root user.
2. Issue these commands:

netstat -tulp or lsof -i -n | egrep 'COMMAND|LISTEN|UDP'
